President of Turkmenistan receives the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Turkmenistan

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Turkmenistan Viktor Maiko, who presented his credentials to the Turkmen leader.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity of a personal meeting, the diplomat conveyed greetings from President Vladimir Zelensky to the President of Turkmenistan. President Vladimir Zelensky wished President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov good health, prosperity and success in the implementation of large-scale aimed at ensuring prosperity of Turkmenistan, improving the well-being of Turkmen people.

Our countries have always been strategic partners and reliable allies. The Ukrainian people highly value and support the peace-loving policy, pursued by the President of Turkmenistan and the important international initiatives put forward by the Turkmen leader with the aim to strengthen the foundations of peace, security and sustainable development.

Addressing the best wishes to the President of the friendly state, the Turkmen leader expressed satisfaction with the productive nature of long-term cooperation with Ukraine, which is built on a bilateral and multilateral basis, including within the framework of major international organizations.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment as the head of the diplomatic mission of Ukraine in Turkmenistan, wishing him success in his responsible work.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the entire spectrum of a multifaceted interstate dialogue, built on a long-term basis from the standpoint of equality and mutual benefit.

Speaking about the significant date of this year - the 30th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan, the diplomat emphasized that Turkmenistan had approached its anniversary as a strong, powerful, economically developed and politically stable country.

Speaking about the existing potential for building up fruitful cooperation, the President of Turkmenistan and the diplomat expressed the interest of Turkmenistan and Ukraine in intensifying productive ties in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

In this context, the progress in the implementation of the agreements reached earlier, as well as the prospects for partnership, were discussed. The Ambassador, who has worked in Turkmenistan for many years, highly appreciated the changes taken place in the country, emphasizing that Ashgabat admires with its beauty and magnificent architectural complexes.

In conclusion of the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine Viktor Maiko assured the Turkmen leader that he would apply every effort to intensify bilateral cooperation and progressive development of interstate dialogue to satisfy the interests of the peoples of the two countries.
