The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan organized online press conference "The Significance of Peace and Trust in the Modern World".

The online meeting was attended by the heads and representatives of the Interstate TV and Radio Company Mir, the TRT Turkish Broadcasting Corporation, the Russian  international television network Russia Today, the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company” (FSUE VGTRK), Indian Broadcasting Corporation “Prasar Bharati”, National TV and Radio Company of Uzbekistan, the State Information Agency of Azerbaijan “AZERTAC”, Georgian TV channel “TV-24”, the News Agency of Armenia “ARMENPRESS”, international radio “Aztv”, etc.

Turkmenistan was represented by the heads and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State News Agency, the State Committee of Turkmenistan on TV, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography, and other media.

During the press conference, the status and prospects of cooperation aimed at consolidating the efforts of media for sustainable development were discussed. Conference participants emphasized that the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, supported by the Community of Nations, to declare 2021 the International Year of Peace and Trust had proved the effectiveness and relevance of the instruments of Turkmen neutrality in modern world politics.

It was emphasized that the peaceful foreign policy of Turkmenistan prioritized the integration of our country into the international information space by expanding partnerships with major news, TV and radio broadcasting structures of the world.

That is vividly proved by the agreements and memorandums of cooperation signed with leading news agencies and broadcasting companies from different countries in recent years.

In this regard, it was underlined the productivity of the established contacts, thanks to which a wide audience has the opportunity to receive reliable information about the modern development of our country, as well as the richest historical and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people.

Participants in the press conference also discussed the aspects of information exchange, conducting methodological online seminars, joint work on covering events taking place within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence.
