The Foreign Ministry hosted the online meeting with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia Sri Hishamuddin Tun Hussein. The heads of the Foreign Ministries of two friendly countries have discussed wide range of objectives of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in political and diplomatic, trade and economic, energy and humanitarian spheres. Mutual intent of both states to intensify contacts under competent international organizations, especially under the UN, has been highlighted. The necessity to activate cooperation in oil and gas sector, which has huge potential for joint work, has been expressed for further implementation of the agreements reached during telephone conversation between President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Malaysia Muhiddin Yassin on October 27 this year. Positive practice of cooperation with Malaysian companies specialized in this sphere has also been mentioned. Opportunities of intensification of the partnership in the sphere of information and communication technologies and digitization of the economy have also been reviewed. Humanitarian component of Turkmen – Malaysian relations, where both sides have a big practice and significant potential for intensification of efficient cooperation in educational, scientific, cultural and healthcare spheres has been highlighted. Mutual interest in activation of the contacts between representatives of the government and private structures of both countries for conducting of joint activities, which support strengthening and expansion of bilateral contacts of Turkmenistan and Malaysia in all directions presenting the interest has been expressed.
