President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed the International Forum for Northern Economic Cooperation in Seoul. The agenda of the High-Level Forum, held in the videoconference format with the participation of the President of the Republic of Korea and the heads of a number of states, focused on important issues of the Eurasian partnership in the context of modern realities and with a view to the future. In his address, the President of Turkmenistan reaffirmed the proactive position of neutral Turkmenistan in the development of constructive regional and global cooperation that meets the interests of global peace, prosperity and progress. Addressing the President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-In and the forum participants, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated everyone on opening of the International Forum for Northern Economic Cooperation and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to address the forum. The President of Turkmenistan noted that he considered this representative Forum as a timely initiative to discuss strategically significant topics for the long-term development of international economic, trade and investment cooperation in Eurasia. The President of Turkmenistan underlined that implementation of the New Northern Policy initiated by the Republic of Korea could be an important factor in building modern architecture of geo-economics along the East-West and South-North routes. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the practical implementation of the ideas and principles, laid into the New Northern Economic Policy would offer a powerful impetus to the creation of multi-vector energy, transport and transit corridors, the formation of interconnected production cycles and industrial belts of the Eurasian economic partnership. In this context, the President of Turkmenistan noted that diversification of cooperation should become the main content of the new image of geoeconomics on the Eurasian continent. This is an objective process, where any constructive strategies aimed at development are intended not to replace, but to complement each other based on the conjugation and compatibility of interests and long-term goals. “This is the conceptual vision of Turkmenistan of its role and forms of interaction with partners when planning and implementing certain projects”, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized. “At the same time, we believe in the efficiency of bilateral cooperation, which only strengthens and enriches the multilateral formats of partnership”. Moreover, the Turkmen leader noted that great prospects for joint activities in the implementation of projects in science-intensive industries, including telecommunications and space, in the field of water use, in particular, desalination of sea water. Taking this opportunity, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited the business community of the Republic of Korea to more actively enter the Turkmen market, confirming the willingness to provide maximum assistance to the work of Korean companies in our country, to create favorable conditions for them. The President stressed that, shaping its approaches to cooperation, speaking with important international initiatives for the development of economic partnership, Turkmenistan proceeds from the fact that Asia, with its colossal human resources, intellectual, financial, industrial, technological potential, would largely shape the upcoming agenda of global development. The President of Turkmenistan emphasized that today, Asian states are looking for new models of interaction with each other and with other regions of the planet, offering significant and promising ideas and plans. Our country, possessing vast reserves of hydrocarbon, mineral and other types of raw materials, is dynamically expanding its production, transport and logistics infrastructure. According to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, being at the junction of strategic routes from Asia to Europe, Turkmenistan is ready to put these opportunities and advantages at the service of common development goals, contribute to the creation of effective economic, trade, investment systems of cooperation and, together with partners, follow the path of progress. In conclusion of his address, the Turkmen leader once again greeted the participants of the Forum and wished everyone fruitful work. The President of the Republic of Korea expressed his sincere gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for active support in the development of fruitful bilateral and international partnerships, a constructive position in consolidating efforts to address the most important tasks.
