Priority objectives of activation of transport and transit corridors of interstate and regional significance have been discussed at the video conference session held in Türkmendemirýollary Agency with participation of the Head of the branch office of National Railroad Company of Kazakhstan and the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to our country. During the meeting, interested exchange of visions on promotion of existing inter-governmental agreements as well as on perspectives of cooperation in transit and transport sphere. Special attention has been paid to operation of transnational corridor Turkmenistan – Kazakhstan – Iran as an important link between Europe and Asia as well as the North – South railway, which includes number of joint measures for its use. The sides have discussed pricing policy for efficient use of throughput capacity of international transit corridors, increment of volumes of railroad container traffic and expansion of geographic borders. The importance of establishment of close contacts in logistic sphere, which provides stable cargo traffic in different direction, has been mentioned. In addition, Turkmen specialists have informed about implementation of the project of modernization and electrification of Turkmenbashy – Ashgabat – Mary – Turkmenabat railway. In this regard, the sides have confirmed the willingness to discuss new plans of cooperation in this direction.
