President, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the country Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has signed the Orders on pardoning convicted persons, according to which 812 citizens of our country and 3 foreign citizens have been released from the further imprisonment as the main sentence and from additional sentence in the form of obligation of living in certain place. The amnesty has been timed to the 29th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence. At the session of the Government, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has ordered Vice-premier, Secretary of the State Security council Charymyrat Amanov and heads of law enforcement structures to take measures and return pardoned citizens to their families as soon as possible. - Regularly holding similar actions, we hope that all people who are pardoned are sincerely regretting their crimes and are willing to atone their gilt by honest work working for the sake of the Motherland, - the Head of the State said. Addressing the heads of the regions, districts and cities as well as other officials, the President requested to hold the employment of pardoned people under control. The Head of the State has wished to make deserving contribution to large-scale activity carried out in the country by honest work to the citizens released from the prison.
