Speaking at a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the spread of coronavirus infection had a negative impact on the economies of all states. Nevertheless, despite the difficult financial and economic conditions in the world, Turkmenistan has achieved sustainable development of its economy, and kept significant amounts of financial resources in reserve. “In the current difficult conditions, we should take all measures to implement the five-year programme of development of the country, which was adopted at 2019 Halk Maslahaty meeting”. “More than 70 % of the state budget funds are invested into the social sphere. Huge financial resources are used to improve the social and living conditions of the population in villages, settlements, cities in etraps and etrap centers. “Along with this, it is necessary to increase the volume of credit funds allocated for the development of industrial sectors of the economy, encourage small business, increase the volume of credit and financial resources, allocated to the population. “Moreover, the most of the state budget funds will be invested to education, healthcare, and the Pension Fund”, emphasized the President of Turkmenistan.
