President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov. Greeting the head of the largest region of Russia, the Turkmen leader congratulated him on re-election as the President of Tatarstan, emphasizing that his convincing victory in the elections vividly proves the high confidence and support for the course, pursued by Rustam Minnikhanov with the aim to ensure social and political stability and economic growth in the republic. Wishing President Rustam Minnikhanov further success in his responsible work, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conveyed warm greetings to the first President, and now State Counselor of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimie, who made a significant contribution to the development of the Turkmen-Tatarstan relations. Thanking for the kind words, President Rustam Minnikhanov expressed satisfaction with the invariably friendly nature of relations with Turkmenistan, which are filled with new content with every passing year. During the telephone conversation, it was emphasized that for centuries the peoples of Turkmenistan and Tatarstan have maintained fraternal relations based on the affinity of cultures and religion, the similarity of languages and traditions. Due to the policy of strategic partnership, consistently pursued by the leadership of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, bilateral cooperation at the regional level successfully develops. That is vividly proved by close Turkmen-Tatarstan contacts, which, as emphasized, are an illustrative example of the effective efforts taken to develop cooperation between our country and Russia, serve as a clear confirmation of this. During the conversation, it was noted that the agenda of the multifaceted dialogue between Turkmenistan and Tatarstan prioritized trade and economic partnership. Moreover, the countries have established fruitful cultural and humanitarian contacts, including in the fields of science and education. Stressing that our country highly appreciates the personal contribution of President Rustam Minnikhanov to the development of Turkmen-Tatarstan relations, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence in the further development of the multifaceted dialogue and joint work to enhance cooperation.
