Development of Turkmen-Afghani partnership on the agenda of online meeting

Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held videoconference talks with Acting Chairman of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Ajmal Ahmadi. The issues of mutual interest, including development of cooperation were discussed during the online meeting. The interlocutors focused on the importance of implementing multilateral and bilateral projects aimed at integrating Afghanistan into the architecture of the regional and global economy. In this context, the parties discussed the implementation of large-scale projects: the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline and the TAP power transmission line, as well as the creation of the Lapis Lazuli international transport corridor. It was emphasized that their successful implementation would give a powerful impetus to sustainable economic development, would contribute to the solution of social and humanitarian issues, and the maintenance of peace and security in the region. In particular, it will increase the level of employment among the population, as well as create a modern energy, communication and transport and logistics infrastructure.
