President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation with Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani. Cordially greeting each other, the heads of the two states exchanged congratulations on the occasion of Kurban Bayramy (Eid Al Adha), expressing confidence that this bright holiday, embodying such enduring universal humanistic values as brotherhood and solidarity, the aspiration to do good, would contribute to progress, the triumph of peace and the consolidation of solidarity throughout the Muslim community and on the planet as a whole. Addressing the best wishes to the peoples of the two countries, the President of Turkmenistan and the Emir of Qatar expressed satisfaction with the high level of bilateral political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian relations, underlining favorable prospects for entering new areas of partnership. Expressing gratitude to the Emir of the State of Qatar for the special attention and personal contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined that Turkmenistan was committed to the traditional interstate dialogue. In this regard, the sides expressed the mutual aspiration to bring strategic and long-term cooperation up to a new level with the aim to strengthen the role of the two friendly states in the global geopolitical and economic space. Discussing important issues of the regional and global agenda, the parties focused on the coronavirus pandemic - a serious threat to all mankind that caused crisis phenomena in the world. Underlining that our country fully supports the efforts of the international community in combating the spread of this dangerous infection, the President of Turkmenistan expressed belief that active cooperation of all states of the planet was necessary to achieve concrete results. In this regard, the Turkmen leader reaffirmed the continued readiness of our country for broad cooperation in the development of new methods and approaches in this direction.
