The conference hall of the Yildyz Hotel hosted two-day video conference discussion on recommendation related to digital transformation of printing media of Turkmenistan. It was organized by the Ministry of Culture of our country and the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat. Issues of digital transformation of mass media were highlighted by international experts – member of the Academy of Russian Television Anna Kachkayeva and member of the Expert Council of the Ministry of Communication of Russian Federation in the sphere of printing media Yuri Purgin. Such subjects as digital audience and digital content, pattern of transfer of newspapers to digital space, technical support and creation of new products in virtual environment have been brought to discussion. It has special currency in the context of realization of the Concept of development of digital economy in Turkmenistan in 2020 – 2025 initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which provides transfer of printing periodic to electronic format. By the results of discussion of digital transformation of printing media and their adapting in modern digital media environment, it is planned to expand presented recommendations taking into account the comments and proposals of Turkmen side.
