Turkmenistan takes part in online session of the Standing Committee of the WHO Regional Office for Europe

The Standing Committee of the WHO Regional Office for Europe held the 4th online session at the UN Office in Ashgabat. The representatives of the Ministry of Health Care and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan took place in the meeting. As noted, the experience of Turkmenistan, successfully implementing national health programmes, was recognized by WHO as exemplary one and was recommended for study in other countries. Implementing fundamental reforms in the healthcare sector, Turkmenistan pays great attention to the development of international cooperation that facilitates the exchange of best practices in the field of medicine. Enhancement of preventive work, introduction of modern medical technologies and equipment, promotion of the principles of a healthy lifestyle in society, as well as popularization of physical culture and sports movement are among the significant steps taken at the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
