The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan arranged a briefing ""International cooperation of Turkmenistan in the healthcare sphere"" in a video conference format. The heads and specialists of ministries and departments, diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, political scientists, university professors and students, the heads of medical universities of Belarus, Azerbaijan and Georgia, as well as numerous representatives of local and foreign media were invited to participate in the online meeting. As noted, the country had systematically worked to modernize the material and technical base of the industry, to introduce innovative methods and advanced foreign technologies. Turkmenistan has established partnership with medical centers and major research and educational institutions in other countries. Along with improving the quality of medical services provided to the population, health programmes are successfully implemented in the country in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization and the national legislation, all necessary measures are taken to prevent, diagnose and treat various diseases. Today, Turkmenistan has launched large-scale work to prevent dangerous infectious diseases, in particular, the new coronavirus infection COVID-19. Participants in the briefing underlined the efficiency of the measures taken in our country to improve healthcare and exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and international partners.
