The State Bank of Foreign Economic Affairs hosted video conference talks with representatives of Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) (Japan). Substantial exchange of the views on realization of existing agreements in financial and investment cooperation and perspectives of cooperation in this sphere have been held during the meeting. Chemical industry, oil and gas processing industry, power energy, transport and communication sector, introduction of advanced technologies, agriculture and other spheres where consolidation of efforts seems to be the most efficient are among topical directions of the partnership. In this regard, it was highlighted that Turkmenistan and Japan have successful experience in realization of joint infrastructural projects in different spheres, which insurance services are provided by the NEXI. This is indicated by credit agreements between the State Bank of Foreign Economic Affairs and Japanese Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC) signed in the last years for financial of construction of high technology facilities of oil and gas complex, power energy and chemical industry. At this moment, five projects to total amount of 3.63 billion US dollars have been completed with participation of NEXI and state concerns Türkmenhimiýa and Türkmengaz. At present, Japanese companies build 432 MW gas turbine power station in Lebap Velayat at the work order of the Ministry of Energy. Specific proposals on further cooperation in the context of open door policy pursued by the Head of Turkmenistan have been made during online discussion.
