The State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs held talks in the form of a video conference with the representatives of Commerzbank AG of the Federal Republic of Germany. The main topic of discussion was the key aspects of cooperation. Expressing satisfaction with the effective nature of cooperation between Turkmenistan and one of the leading credit institutions in Germany, the meeting participants emphasized that in recent years special attention had been paid to the development of a stable financial sector, including the improvement of legislation in this area. Underlining the positive changes in the banking sector of Turkmenistan, the parties made a special emphasis on the importance of digitalization in this segment of the national economy. There was a unanimous opinion that the exchange of ideas about innovation, experience and best practices contributed to the sustainable development of the country's financial market. The meeting addressed the issues related to the activities of the Turkmen-German Intergovernmental Working Group on Economics that plays an important role in expanding fruitful interstate relations. In the context of further promotion of joint projects, the German side confirmed its support for the economic policy implemented by President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as well as the willingness s to strengthen mutually beneficial partnership.
