I believe that the celebrations held on occasion of this holiday will put smiles of the faces of our lovely women, will inspire them and fill their hearts with the pride in the Fatherland”, emphasized President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in his congratulatory address. “The respect for women as the supporter of a family and a model of morality is the most valuable principle of the Turkmen people. The songs, highly artistic carpets and handmade embroidery patterns, created by our women, stand as an important part of the national heritage. The art of carpet weaving, tracing back to old centuries, which traditions are carefully preserved and improved due to the talent and skills of Turkmen women, is included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity”. According to the President of Turkmenistan, the protection of the legitimate rights and interests of women, provision them with state benefits, creation of all the opportunities for their work and good living standard, increase of their role in the public and political life of the country is an important criteria for the stable progress of our society. “Our country is aimed at strengthening its positions in the global coordinate system. Women significantly contribute to the implementation of large-scale tasks, strengthening the political, economic, cultural and social foundation of the country’s development. They successfully work in government agencies, public organizations, in various fields, research institutes and high-tech industrial complexes. We are proud of this”, underlined the President of Turkmenistan. “We highly appreciate the merits of women in raising the younger generation in the best traditions of the Turkmen people - well-educated, mentally and physically healthy, hardworking patriots of the country with a broad world outlook. “Our state policy prioritizes the development of society on the basis of national traditions, concern for the protection of motherhood and childhood, and family values. That is vividly proved by the measures taken to improve the national legislation in this area, successfully implement the programmes aimed at protecting childhood and motherhood, providing social support to mothers with many children”, said the President of Turkmenistan. In conclusion, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished compatriots good health, happiness, family well-being, and great success in their work in the name of further prosperity of the Motherland.
