President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Turkmenistan Togan Oral who presented his credentials to the Head of the State. Having expressed gratitude for the time spared for the audience, the guest conveyed warm greeting of President of Turkey Recep Tayip Erdogan, who addressed wishes of happiness and prosperity to fraternal Turkmen people. The diplomat said that it is a great honour for him to represent the Republic of Turkey in our country, which is known in the world with its progressive foreign policy based on the status of permanent neutrality and constructive initiatives aimed at development of wide international cooperation. Noting fast dynamics of social and economic development of Turkmenistan, the Ambassador highlighted that Turkish people is sincerely proud of success and achievements of fraternal Turkmen nation on the way of progress and creation. Addressing return greetings to the highest officials of the Republic of Turkey, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stated high level of interstate relations with delight. Congratulating diplomat with the appointment on responsible post, the Head of the State wished him success in activation of versatile Turkmen – Turkish cooperation. Continuing the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and his guest exchanged the opinions on the main directions of development of interstate partnership, which is built on the principles of mutual benefit and long-term perspective. This is visually indicated by dozens of projects, which have been completed and are implemented in different spheres. Trade and economic sphere, energy, construction and textile industries, transport and communication sector and other have been outlined among priority directions of cooperation. In this context, the role of Intergovernmental Turkmen – Turkish Commission and Joint Business Council has been noted as actual mechanisms of expansion and diversification of effective partnership. Humanitarian sphere is an integral part of interstate relations. Rich experience of joint work has been gained in this sphere and there are favourable opportunities in education and science, cultural and art, sport and tourism spheres. At the same time, it was noted that Turkmenistan and Turkey work effectively together in the format of competent regional and international organization demonstrating coincidence and proximity of positions in current issues of today. In this context, the importance of remarkable date - the 25th anniversary of recognition the status of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan on international level, which is observed this year, as well as constructive initiative proposed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which are aimed at strengthening of peace and stability in the region, creation of conditions for universal sustainable development has been highlighted. In the end of the meeting, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey assured the Head of the State that he would put all knowledges and diplomatic practice for expansion of constructive dialog, which meets interests of two fraternal countries and nations.
