On March 26, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received Chairman of the National Assembly’s Republic Council of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich who arrived in Turkmenistan at the head of his country’s delegation. Expressing appreciation to the Republic of Belarus for giving constant support to our country’s international initiatives, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov invited Belarusian partners for participation in festivities on the occasion of 20th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality. In the course of a meeting the head of Turkmen state and his guest exchanged opinions on prospects of Turkmen-Belarusian cooperation in the light of practical implementation of the agreements, reached at the high level, as well as the future plans. In that context, presence of favorable opportunities for diversification of fruitful contacts in a wide range of areas, including trade, economy, transport, agriculture, industry, delivery of the modern machinery and equipment for the agro-industrial complex, pharmaceutical industry and other spheres, was pointed out. In view of the socioeconomic development of both countries good prospects open up for interaction in scientific and technical spheres as well. During the conversation, particular attention was given to the implementation progress of the potash fertilizers production Garlyk Ore-Dressing and Processing Enterprise joint project, under construction in Koytendag etrap of Lebap velayat where the richest reserves of potassium salts are located. As the Chairman of the National Assembly’s Republic Council of the Republic of Belarus informed, within the framework of his present visit to Turkmenistan he had visited a building site of the large infrastructural facility to become acquainted with the course of construction of a new industrial giant. Confirming adherence of Belarusian partners to undertaken obligations, the guest assured that all-out efforts would be made to carry out all works at the high qualitative level. During the discussion of interstate relations, the leader of nation and his guest emphasized a positive role of regular mutual visits and exchange of delegations at different levels in strengthening of bilateral cooperation. In that context, the President of Turkmenistan and the Chairman of the Belarusian National Assembly’s Republic Council spoke in favor of further encouragement of inter-parliamentary relations as the inseparable part of Turkmen –Belarusian dialogue. At the same time, fruitfulness of humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, including in the fields of education, science, and highly qualified personnel training, in which efficient contacts have been established already, as well as culture and art, was noted. *** The same day, meetings with the Belarusian delegation headed by Chairman of the National Assembly’s Republic Council of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich were held in the Mejlis and the Government of Turkmenistan. Strengthening and intensification of bilateral inter-parliamentary relations as the significant part of interstate dialogue, as well as priority areas of mutually beneficial cooperation, became the issue of interested exchange of views.
