According to the President of Turkmenistan, our country pays significant attention to developing partnership with the UN Organization, in particular the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). “As a result of cooperation with UNESCO, at the initiative of our country, such historical and cultural monuments of Turkmenistan as Ancient Merv, Kunya Urgench and Ancient Nisa were included into the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List, and the Gyorogly destan and the Kushtdepdi ritual dance - in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. “On December 12, 2019, the Turkmen national art of carpet weaving was included into the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. “As is known, at present, the state policy pursued in the country priorities the study of the historical and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, the careful preservation and enrichment of its ancient traditions. “Our carpets, which amaze with their beauty and harmony of shades, accumulate the spiritual and historical experience of the Turkmen people.
