On August 9, while visiting “Archman” sanatorium, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov got acquainted with some new social construction objects, including the sanatorium’s infrastructure facilities. In the sanatorium, the head of state accepted congratulations from his associates on the occasion of Turkmen Melon Day. Truly grateful for congratulations, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov noted that the extraordinary delicious “paradise” melons, rightfully regarded as a part of the Turkmen nation’s great heritage, were worldwide known many centuries ago. The clearest evidence of the centuries-long glory of those wonderful fruits grown on the fertile Turkmen land can be found in the numerous survived works authored by great scientists and renowned travelers who had lived in various historical epochs. Noting with satisfaction that Turkmen melons are traditionally awarded gold medals during the prestigious international exhibitions, the leader of nation has emphasized that over the years ahead, the state would continue to render all-round support to the farmers, skilled selectionists and melon growers who promote the wealth and prosperity of the native land. Thereupon, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov charged the relevant authorities with organizing countrywide the festivities and celebrations at high level on the occasion of Turkmen Melon Day, as well as the ceremonies of awarding the best melon growers for their hard work and remarkable successes in melon growing. Once again thanking the people assembled for congratulations, the head of state addressed his best wishes and labored victories to land cultivators in their important activity for the Homeland’s progress and prosperity. Then, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet, President’s and Cabinet’s Administration Manager Sh. Durdylyev reported to the head of state on fulfillment of the earlier presidential commissions concerning the all-around development and improvement of the capital city. Reporting on the implementation progress of the Ashgabat Redevelopment Program – particularly on the objects to be erected in the capital’s northern part, the vice-premier presented for consideration of the head of state the site location sketches of the would-be objects, apartment houses, social, cultural and other facilities. After getting acquainted with the presented projects and drawings, the head of has stressed that what is above all needed today and tomorrow is to ensure high quality of construction works and create maximum comfortable living conditions for the population. President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov instructed to get under constant control the issues of modernizing the existing residential areas, neighborhoods improvement, expansion of the capital’s park zones, and construction of comfortable dwelling houses and cottages. This means that a very responsible and complex approach should be taken in giving ample opportunities to the population in choosing living accommodations that would meet modern requirements and personal preferences, as well as in maintaining the appropriate ecological condition in all areas of Ashgabat, the leader of nation said. Further, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet S.Satlykov reported on the state of affairs in the structures under his supervision, in particular, on fulfillment of the earlier presidential commissions concerning the acceleration of housing construction pace. The vice-premier submitted for consideration by the President of Turkmenistan the projects of the soon-to-be-built sectoral objects and their site location sketches. The report’s special concern was the implementation progress of the important metropolitan project - the International Airport, which is being built at an accelerated pace. As was reported, now the administrative building and the second passenger terminal function in a normal operating mode. The advanced world experience, the latest technologies and innovative construction methods are actively used at the region’s unique object. The vice-premier informed that the active preparations were under way in “Avaza” National Tourist Zone for a regular Turkmenistan’s Elders Council session. This national forum will be held in the Avaza’s Congress Center, the construction of which has been completed. The vice-premier also presented the project of a health-rehabilitation center to be built in Avaza in accordance with the earlier presidential commission. In the course of acquaintance with new projects, the head of state has emphasized that during their implementation special attention should be given, first of all, to the creation of social infrastructure, because concern for the people’s wellbeing and their modern high living standards is an invariable priority of the state policy. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov has thereupon stressed the importance of creating green zones in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone, as well as in all other regions of the country, turning the resort area into a blossoming garden and further improving its ecological condition. In this regard, the head of state gave a number of concrete commissions to the relevant officials. In addition, the leader of nation emphasized the importance of proper preparation for the forthcoming Elders Council session, as well as providing high organizational level of this sociopolitical event which is of great significance in our country’s social life. The leader of nation also demanded while developing the modern tourist infrastructure in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone special attention to give to the factors the people’s health is connected with and depends on. Noting that local natural and environmental conditions play an important role in this process, the head of state instructed to carry out regular work on maintaining the ecological well-being on the Turkmen Caspian Seacoast. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov also directed attention to the issue of taking appropriate care for the trees planted in “Archman” sanatorium. Stressing the importance of creating green zones and “belts”, the head of state instructed to provide massive planting of young trees within the boundaries of health resorts, as well as in their neighborhoods, and organize due managing of the plantations.
