Given the great personal contribution to strengthening friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, for the personal heroism and achievements in the development of outer space for peaceful purposes, for outstanding services to our state and people, high professional skills, as well as many years of dedicated work, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Decree, authorizing: To award the title “Hero of Turkmenistan” and the gold medal “Altyn Aý” to pilot-cosmonaut of the Russian Federation, cosmonaut of the Roscosmos State Corporation for Space Activities, commander Oleg Kononenko.
