Timed to the Day of City holiday, a number of architectural-artistic openings that the Turkmen capital hosted last week added to the list of its places of attractions. Launching of the “Arkadag” Monument in the center of the circled junction in the Bagtyyarlyk Avenue gave a startup to the “parade” of new objects. The members of the government, heads of Mejlis, ministries and departments, military and law enforcement agencies, velayats’ and Ashgabat city’s khyakims, heads of diplomatic representations and missions accredited to Turkmenistan, foreign businessmen, and also members of the public and mass media communities, artists, honorary elders and youth, the graduates of secondary schools were among the numerous residents of the capital who came to celebrate the event. During the ceremony, the Resolution of Mejlis of Turkmenistan - “On the opening of the “Arkadag” Monument in Ashgabat - the capital of Turkmenistan” – was announced. In particular, it says that erected on the basis of offers and proposals received from numerous labor groups, local authorities, public associations, citizens of our country, the monument is the brightest symbol of the infinite respect and support our people give to the national leader, whose life and titanic activity are inseparable from the fate of the Motherland. Total height of the monument with a massive monolithic rock-shaped pedestal is 21 meters. The top of the ‘mountain’ is crowned with a gold-shining 6-meter horse sculpture with the President of Turkmenistan astride the Akhalteke horse. The author of the sculpture is People’s Artist of Turkmenistan, sculptor Saragt Babaev. The festivities were continued with the opening ceremony of the new monument which received a symbolic name “Abadanchylyk”. Erected between the Archabil and Chandybil Avenues, against the picturesque background of the Kopetdag Mountains, this original structure signifies the prosperity and peace reigning in the Turkmen land brightened up by the epoch of power and happiness. The 47-meter construction is composed of the five segments. It is crowned by a symbolic construction of the Globe with the images of five doves with extended wings and the olive branches down below the birds. Directed upward, blended together in their upper parts with a ring decorated with national ornament of every velayat of the country, the columns of the monument symbolize the unity - the unity and consolidation of all five velayats of Turkmenistan. The illuminated fountains and decorative lighting masts are an integral part of the total composition (26 thousand square meters total area). The monument is surrounded by the four underground passages; its neighborhoods are improved to be used them in the future of arranging a large green zone. Then followed inauguration of the “Yildyz” monument erected at the intersection of Bagtyyarlyk and Oguzkhan Streets. It is distinguished by the originality of architectural and design solutions. Total height of the construction is 36 meters. The monument consists of the five crescent-shaped pillars; each is decorated with the images of octagonal star of Oguzkhan. When combined, the pillars form a general composition. From side view, it looks like a crescent, and from top view – a star. All in all, the monument resembles a flying skyward artificial satellite. The “Ylym” Monument, constructed at the intersection of Yanbash and Bikrova Highways, is called to become a visible symbol of the progressive development of the domestic science, its modern achievements, and it entering on a new, global level. Total height of the construction is 36 meters; blending in their upper part, its pillars, made in the original style, resemble an opened flower – an embodiment of the prosperity of Turkmen science in the epoch of power and happiness. The symbolic composition, depicting nine planets of the solar system, crowns the construction. Celebrations on the occasion of the opening of the new monuments took place in the other parts of city – in Berkararlyk and Kopetdag etraps, with participation of representatives of local administration and sectoral agencies, as well as school graduates, honorary elders, etc. Thus, the “Ak Bugday” Monument grew up in the south-eastern part of the capital in the center of the circled junction of the Archabil Avenue and B. Annanov Street. The original 36-meter structure embodies the fact that Turkmenistan is motherland of white wheat - akbugday. The monument is crowned with a two-meter-high gilded spire in the form of wheatears, which together with five powerful pillars form a single unit. The structure is an image of the Turkmen people’s unity that retained the national spiritual values through the centuries. Water - a symbol of eternity and fertility of the native land is pouring down from the eight jars located along the perimeter of the foundation’s circle inscribed in the octagon. In general, resembling a giant sprout which is fighting its life way through centuries, the entire monument embodies the connection of the past and the present with the future. In addition, the celebrations near the new “Sagdynlyk” Monument in the Ataturk Street brought together the guests and representatives of Turkmenistan’s health and sport systems. On top of the 27-meter erection, there is a sculptural image of the emblem of the V Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts to be held in Ashgabat in 2017.
