Last week, the Kyrgyz Republic hosted Turkmenistan’s Days of Culture. The Culture Days’ intensive program included numerous business and creative meetings, concerts, exhibitions, film shows, get-acquainted tours and, certainly, face-to-face communication which contributes to the direct perception of history, culture, art of the two neighboring peoples of the region. Representatives of the Kyrgyz government, the diplomatic corps, a wide public, creative intelligentsia, and the compatriots permanently residing in the country participated in the solemn ceremony of Culture Days opening. High emotional intensity accompanied the entire concert, ruling overwhelmingly over the stage and audience and confirming once again the thought – ‘Culture and Art have no boundaries’. In the framework of Culture Days, on the art-grounds of Kyrgyzstan’s capital, an exhibition was held of the national decorative-applied and contemporary art of the Turkmen people, the exhibits of which were provided by the State Museum of the State Cultural Center and State Fine Arts Museum of Turkmenistan. Moreover, the Cinema House of Bishkek hosted a get-acquainted show of the best movies of Turkmen cinematography. There was also a trip of our delegation to the city of Tokmok, where the Turkmen artists offered a varied concert program. Kyrgyz spectators highly appreciated professionalism of Turkmen masters of art, and our artists, in turn, felt sincere interest of Kyrgyz citizens to the distinctive and rich culture of Turkmenistan.
