President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Cordially greeting each other, the leaders of the two states expressed satisfaction with an opportunity to discuss the priority issues of the interstate dialogue, strengthened with the inviolable ties of friendship and neighbourliness during one to one talk. Taking the opportunity, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on his birthday, wishing him good health, prosperity and success in his versatile activity. It was underlined that Uzbekistan paid significant attention to the development of cooperation with Turkmenistan that has achieved outstanding success in all spheres of life under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Thanking for the kind wishes, the President of Turkmenistan noted that our country highly evaluated the friendly relations with the close neighbor and reliable partner – the Republic of Uzbekistan. During the conversation, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev focused on the prospects for enhancing a mutually beneficial partnership. It was noted that there was a solid potential for progressively increasing productive ties, including in the fuel and energy complex, the industrial sector, the transport and communications sector, the agro-industrial complex and in a number of other areas, implementing new large-scale joint projects to ensure economic prosperity of both countries and the region as well. The importance of stimulating fruitful humanitarian and cultural contacts, which are an integral part of interstate relations, was also emphasized. The parties exchanged views on some topical issues of regional and global agenda of mutual interest, reaffirming the readiness of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan to strengthen a constructive dialogue within the UN, the CIS, the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea and other authoritative international organizations. The President of Turkmenistan invited the President of Uzbekistan to take part in the upcoming events in frames of the First Caspian Economic Forum in August this year. In conclusion of the telephone conversation, expressing confidence that the high level of mutual understanding and trust of the bilateral relations will continue providing the foundation for the development of fruitful cooperation, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev wished each other health and success, and prosperity to the people of both countries.
