A festive concert featuring performing artists was organized at the Mukam Palace of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan on the eve of International Women’s Day. This spring holiday is observed in our country in accordance with national traditions showing deep reverence of the Turkmen people towards women. Onstage, the artists treated the audience to recitations of poems, songs and dances devoted to ladies. A theatrical and musical piece, the highlight of the concert, celebrated enduring values such as a native country, hearth and home, family, and was brilliantly performed by artists and dance groups. Designated as “Turkmenistan – the Land of Prosperity”, this year has given special significance to the spring holiday because women have a pivotal role to play as the keepers of century-age traditions and national customs – a strong and secure foundation for the nation’s prosperity. In our country, women’s spiritual, intellectual and moral potential is crucial for tackling social tasks and preserving cultural values. The event program also included kushtdepdi, a colorful and lively folk dance, inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Performances by folk and pop singers, folk and dance groups reflected a close connection between tradition and modernity. Talented singers presented an array of songs in honor of women. The International Women’s Day concert was topped off by a song called ‘Diýarym Owadan, Bagtyýar Zenanlary’, expressing pride for the independent home country and praising women. Musical performances are being held countrywide – at the best concert venues in the capital and regions. Women are being offered warm congratulations and wishes for a joyful spring mood, love, happiness, peace and prosperity.
