Under working visit to Ashgabat, the delegation of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the Commonwealth of Independent States held the meetings and negotiations in some ministries and departments of Turkmenistan. Chairman of the IFHC Board, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan Polad Bulbul Ogly, Co-chairman of the IFHC Board, Special Representative on Cultural Cooperation of the President of the Russian Federation Mikhail Shvidkoy and Executive Director of the IFHC, theatre and social figure Takhir Iksanov were among the guests. Preparation of regular XIV forum of cultural and scientific personnel of the CIS countries in Ashgabat under the chairing of Turkmenistan in the Commonwealth in 2019 has been discussed at the meeting in the Ministry of Culture. Preliminary programme of two-day forum, which is planned to be held in May, during which traditional award ceremony of the State Award “The Stars of the Commonwealth” will take place, has been reviewed. Plan of different events, which will be organized under the year of Book declared by the decision of the Council of the Heads of the CIS countries including writers’ symposiums, book exhibitions as well as other proposals for development of cultural relations between the countries of the Commonwealth, has also been discussed. Further expansion of humanitarian cooperation in such directions as development of common scientific and educational space and activation of youth partnership, support of student research projects, cooperation in ecology and other spheres have been reviewed at the meeting in the Ministry of Education. The Delegation of the IFHC has also been received in the Foreign Ministry where the sides exchanged the visions on cooperation and organization of joint events. Taking the opportunity, the guests expressed the gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for personal close attention to the cooperation in the CIS, having noted responsible approach and high activity of Turkmenistan, which is chairing the Commonwealth of Independent States, to its mission.
