Turkmenistan vividly exemplifies a truly careful attitude to its heritage, including the world-famous Turkmen carpets, Ahalteke horses, antiquities, and unique artifacts. At the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan, the museum collections of our country have been showcased in foreign countries recently, popularizing the national heritage all over the world. That is proved by the three-month exhibition “The World of the Royal Household and the Universe: The Great Century of Seljuks”, which was exhibited in the New York Metropolitan Museum in 2016. The exposition included the exhibits from Turkmen museums that tell about the level of arts development in the cradle of the Great Seljuks’ state – the Ancient Merv. During the visit to the U.S. this year, the members of the delegation of our country visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Our historical and cultural values are not only of national, but also of universal significance. The state patronage, as well as cooperation with authoritative international organizations in this field and the world largest museums contribute to solving the most important tasks of preserving and studying this heritage, as well as the monuments of culture and history. Another important event has been organized in Germany this year: the one-year exhibition “Margiana - the Kingdom of the Bronze Age in Turkmenistan”. At present, the exposition is arranged in Berlin, soon will move to Hamburg, and then, in the city of Mannheim till June 2019. Today, the Turkmen people’s rich historical and cultural heritage stands as the brand that represents the country to the whole world, building equal and trustful relations with all partners, continuing the spiritual, economic and humanitarian retrospective of the Great Silk Road.
