Last week, the International Conference “Turkmenistan’s neutrality - the guarantor of peace, good neighborliness and mutually beneficial cooperation”, devoted to the 6th anniversary of establishing the professional holiday – Diplomatic Workers’ Day of Turkmenistan was held in the conference hall of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The forum was attended by heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited to Turkmenistan, representatives of our country’s diplomatic corps, teaching staff and students of the Institute and a number of other higher education institutions. In their reports, the forum participants have stressed that the new philosophy of Turkmen statehood is closely connected with social, economic, cultural, spiritual and scientific-technological trends of Turkmenistan’s development and the multi-objective international policy. The conference attendees have highlighted that the establishment of friendly relations with all countries of the planet in the name of universal interests and well-being, close cooperation with leading international organizations, first of all with the United Nations are main trends of the foreign policy, successfully pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov. Our country closely and strictly adheres to its international obligations, and uses its enormous political, economic and cultural potential to the full in the interests of global peace and progress. The forum participants have also emphasized that fundamental principles of the Turkmen state’s foreign policy doctrine are mainly based on the settlement of global and regional issues through exclusively peaceful, political and diplomatic means, and are aimed at ensuring well-being and security in the modern world, constructive relations between countries and peoples, convergence and mutual enrichment of their cultures. In the course of the festive events, young employees of the country’s diplomatic service and senior students of the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan were awarded relevant diplomas for active participation in implementing the Turkmen state’s foreign-policy strategy. On the occasion of the professional holiday of the country’s diplomatic workers, an exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan jointly with the foreign diplomatic missions accredited to our country in the festively decorated foyer of the Institute. It featured the exhibits telling about the culture, traditions, and history of different countries. In commemoration of the holiday, sports competitions among the diplomatic missions accredited to our country and the ceremony of awarding winners of the tournament, held in the sports complex of the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan were also organized. A concert with participation of creative groups of the capital’s higher education institutions was given in the assembly hall of the Institute.
