Four medals, including three gold, were added to our national team’s count on the second day of the Asian Sambo and Combat Sambo Championship that is being held in the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar. 13 athletes represent our country at the championship. Turkmen athletes were especially successful in combat sambo, scoring three highest awards. The officer of the Border Service of Turkmenistan, Babajan Ibadullayev, was unrivalled in the super-heavy (100+ kg) weight category, thus confirming his high status of the reigning champion of Asia. Last year he claimed the top spot at the pedestal in under 100 kg weight category at the Tashkent tournament. The student of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism, Javlanbek Madaminov (under 82 kg), became another Asian champion in this discipline. The third medal was won by Kerimberdi Dovletov (under 62 kg), the student of the same institute. Zyba Orunova (64 kg) secured the third spot at the pedestal in women’s sport sambo.
