“Opening the International Ahalteke Horse Breeding Association, we have laid the solid foundation to preserve the pure Ahalteke horse breed and increase the number of Ahalteke horses in the world”, emphasized President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov speaking during the VIII session of the Association. The forum held in the Oguzkent Hotel in Ashgabat brought together the government officials, foreign and Turkmen members of the organization, specialists of the horse breeding industry of Turkmenistan as well as the representatives of the foreign and national media. Opening the session, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov continued the speech in one of the official languages of the United Nations Organisation – the Russian language. Addressing the horse breeders, who arrived in Turkmenistan from different countries, the Turkmen leader noted that for many centuries, the Turkmens had paid significant attention to breeding tender, attached to the owner horses that being faster than a wind have tuned into the incomparable paragon of beauty. The Turkmen leader underlined that much efforts had been applied in the selective breeding in this regard that is successfully developed by Turkmen horse breeders at present. Thus, for example, a modern horse breeding complex designed for 600 heads of thoroughbred Ahalteke horses, as well as the apartment houses for horse breeders and other social facilities were built in the Aba Annaev village, Kyaryzek gengeshlik, Geoktepe Etrap in Ahal velayat. The racing infrastructure of the International Ahalteke and Ashgabat equestrian complexes was modernised, the Ashgabat equestrian complex was reconstructed, in the structure of which the training center was also established. The International quarantine center designed for 120 horses in order to ensure, according to international rules, the participation of Turkmen horses in the international competitions abroad, as well as to check the health of horses coming from other states to participate in the competitions in our country, and the passage of quarantine was built in the Ak Bugday Etrap in Ahal velayat.
