Specialists of National Historical and Cultural Monuments Protection, Study and Restoration Department of the Ministry of Culture and the Academy of Science commenced new season of archaeological excavations, studies and restorations of historical and cultural monuments of the country. This was informed by Vice-premier B. Abdieyva on the session of the Government. The Vice-premier also reported on the activity carried out in accordance with the State Programme of scientific and research works and archaeological excavations for studying of historical and cultural monuments located on the territory of Turkmenistan along the Silk Road in 2018 – 2021. In this regard, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pointed out the necessity of further continuation of these studies by national scientists and specialists as well as making of integral innovative system for study of national heritage based on related information. The Head of the State highlighted the importance of systematic approach to the protection of the monuments as integral part of cultural heritage of humankind, unique source of valuable knowledge, introduction of the outcomes of the field studies to scientific turnover. In this regard, the head of the State also highlighted the importance of the improvement of professional training of personnel, museum and popularization activity, establishment of international scientific contacts and development of cooperation with foreign scientific and research centres, activation of the measures for inclusion of tangible and intangible values of Turkmen nation to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
