President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held offsite session of the State Security Council where outcomes of the activity of military and law enforcement departments for the first quarter of 2018 have been summed up and the main directions of work of the security forces in the near future have been specified. Early in the morning, the Head of the State arrived in the place of the session where he received the report from Secretary of the State Security Council, Defence Minister Ya. Berdiyev. Opening the session, the President highlighted that our country is committed to the principles of positive neutrality and strictly follows the provisions of National Military Doctrine, which has exclusively defensive character and serves as reliable guarantee of peace, stability and further development of the country and wealth of the citizens. Having announced the agenda, Turkmen leader gave floor to Secretary of the State Security Council, Defence Minister Ya. Berdiyev who reported on practical measures for the improvement of defence capability of the country and for modernization of equipment and facilities base of the army. Having noted that defensive character of successfully realized Military Doctrine outlines number of priority objectives of military and law enforcement agencies, the Head of the State highlighted the importance of coordinated elaboration of the plans of further development of the Armed Forces as well as operational, combat and mobilization training of military detachments. Having touched upon the subject of the improvement of qualification of ratings, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov ordered to pay the attention to the creation of conditions for successful service and proper life of the motherland’s defenders. During the session, the President signed the Decree on assignment of the colours to new military divisions of the Armed Forces of the country. Summing up the outcomes of work performed by the security forces for January – March 2018, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the country focused on the key aspects of defensive Military Doctrine that outlines strategic bases of the security and integrity of Turkmenistan borders. Having noted the importance of fundamental changes carried out under large-scale reforms aimed at the renovation of equipment and facilities base of military and law enforcement departments of the country, the President defined the improvement of personnel potential among priority vectors. Physical training is an important and integral part of military training and education of the personnel for fulfilment of combat and other tasks cording to the prupose. In this regard, it was noted that it is necessary to develop actively military and applied sports in military divisions of National army. Other objectives, on which relative decisions were made, have been reviewed at the session of the State Security Council. In the end, having highlighted that the State would continue taking care of the conditions for efficient service and life of the officers and soldiers, the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished success in responsible work to the participants. After, Turkmen leader inspected new samples of combat helicopters that were supplied to the Armed Forces of the country. having expressed the interest in special features of the aircrafts, the Head of the State noted that it is necessary to continue steadfast work for the consolidation of defensive capability of the army, which is supplied with advanced equipment, as well as to pay utmost attention to the improvement of professional skills of military personnel. At present moment, tactical exercises and events on military patriotic education, improvement of physical training, operation of advanced equipment and weapons are regularly organized in all military divisions of the security forces. Having inspected the conditions for training shooting of special targets, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and heads of military and law enforcement department conducted shooting exercise from different types of firearms. Accurate shooting on target by the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces was another bright evidence of his excellent skills in weapons. Mastering of different sports by military personnel is one of the main conditions for successful fulfilment of the tasks and for the achievement of high results, - the President highlighted, having noted that works in this direction have to be efficient. In this regard, the Head of the State gave specific instructions to relative leaders.
