New leaders of National Parliament were elected at the first session of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan of new convocation with the participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. According to the provisions of the Constitution of Turkmenistan, the candidate for this high government post is elected by secret balloting. The members of Counting Committee of the Mejlis chaired by deputy S. Seyilov were elected for this. The parliamentarians nominated deputy of No. 7 polling station “Gunesh” of Ashgabat G. Mammedova to the post of the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkemnistan. According to the outcomes of secret balloting, Gulshat Mammedova was unanimously elected by the Chairperson of National Parliament. Addressing the Head of the State, deputies and other participants, G. Mammedova expressed deep gratitude for the trust and assured that she would spare no efforts for the sake of the Motherland, implementation of the policy of progressive reforms.
