President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the elections of the deputies of the Mejlis of the VI convocation and Halk Maslahaty members. Early in the morning, the Turkmen leader arrived at school No. 68 named after Annaniyaz Artyk. The school principal warmly welcomed the President of Turkmenistan and invited him to go to the polling station. Receiving the voting ballot, the President of Turkmenistan addressed those present. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the most worthy people who are devoted to their work and who have won great respect among their compatriots campaign for the right to become a member of the parliament and a member of the Halk Maslahaty – a representative of the local executive authority. According to the Turkmen leader the elections of the Mejlis deputies, the members of the velayat, etrap and city Halk Maslahaty and Gengesh are held on the competitive basis. Two or even three persons were proposed a candidate that vividly proves that the elections are on a wide alternative basis. The President of Turkmenistan expressed satisfaction with the preparations for the elections. The Preident of Turkmenistan underlined that the pre-election work was well organized, and all necessary conditions for voting were created. The President also mentioned the fact that three political parties took part in the current election campaign that proves the development of the democratic principles in the country, the intensification of multi-party relations, as well as the unity and cohesion of our people. Noting that Programme of social and economic development of Turkmenistan in 2018-2024 will ensure the improvement of life of every citizen of the country, the President expressed confidence that today's socio-political event would be of particular importance for the successful implementation of the tasks set by the Programme. In this regard, the President of Turkmenistan wished each candidate every success, the members of election commissions – to hold the most important social and political event at the high level, and the people of the country - a happy and prosperous life, expressing belief that the elections organized all around the country would be held at the high organizational level. Then President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov headed to the voting booth and exercised his constitutional right, giving his vote to the candidates he considered most worthy. The President of Turkmenistan voted in polling station No. 48 of Gunesh election district No. 7, where, like in other constituencies, several candidates stand for one seat that meets the requirements of the alternative voting and allows a voter to choose the most worthy candidate.
