The capital Yildyz Hotel hosted the fifth session of Joint Turkmen – Tatar workig group for trade and economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation. Heads and representatives of different ministries and departments of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation were the participants of the forum. The agenda included the subjects of the development of beneficial partnership in trade, oil and gas, industrial, agricultural, science, education, health protection and medicinal industry spheres as well as in culture and tourism. Forestalling the session, the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan held number of meetings with the representatives of the ministries and departments of our country, during which the directions of cooperation in nearest future have been outlined. Current forum continued the dialog with the discussion of priority aspects of cooperation on Work Group level. It was highlighted that recently, the partnership of Turkmenistan and Tatarstan has activated in various vectors and entered new level. It was mainly supported by traditionally friendly character of the relations, which are built on the principles of equal rights and mutual respect. Strong impulse to consolidation of the partnership was given by the Programme of Cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan (Russian Federation) in trade and economic, scientific and technical, cultural and humanitarian and other spheres in 2017 – 2019 in October 2016, by Turkmen – Tatar business forum in Ashgabat as well as by the opening of regular flight Ashgabat – Kazan. It was mentioned during the session that cooperation in educational sphere is one of important directions of cooperation. As for today, more than one and half thousand students from our country study in the universities of the Republic of Tatarstan. In addition, teachers, students and postgraduates exchange, organization of distant training, joint studies with the participation of lecturers and students of Turkmen and Tatar universities, scientific seminars and conferences, subject contests, sharing of technical literature have been highlighted among the main aspects of the partnership in this sphere. Support of Turkmen – Tatar academic studies, activation of cooperation in training of scientific and teaching personnel, exchange of learning and methodological documentation have also been outlined. Speaking of the cooperation in oil and gas sector, the participants of the session highlighted that diversification of export routes and creation of optional pipeline infrastructure where the partnership with the Republic of Tatarstan has high potential are the priority of energy strategy of Turkmenistan. Interest of the sides in organization of short visits of pharmacy specialists for exchange of the practice and information about the development of health protection system has been expressed during the meeting. Organization of the concerts of music, folk, dance bands of Turkmenistan and Tatarstan at international cultural events has been proposed in cultural sphere. Opportunities of Days of Turkmenistan Culture in Tatarstan and respectively the Day of Tatarstan Culture in Turkmenistan have been reviewed. Finishing the session, the participants noted considerable progress in the development of bilateral relations and highlighted great importance of regular meetings that allow outlining new vectors of beneficial partnership, which, as it was noted by Head of the State Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, serve as good catalyst of Turkmen – Russian cooperation in all spectrum. Relative Protocol has been signed by the outcomes of the session.
