Sets of medals in women’s 71 kg weight category was contested at the World Weightlifting Championship in Ashgabat. Representative of Turkmenistan Gulnabat Kadyrova contested in B Group. She was the second in the snatch, having lost one kg to the leader. She was at the seventh position in the clean-and-jerk and the third in total in the group. She entered the tens of the strongest in this category on the ninth position.

Winners of women’s weight category 64 kg was defined in the fifth day of Ashgabat World Championship. Sportswoman from Romania Toma Loredana made a challenge for leading Asian athletes. However, she could not manage with record weight of 112 kg and champion’s title went to Deng Wei (China). Karina Goricheva from Kazakhstan took the bronze.

Rejepbay Rejepov, silver medallist of the last world tournament in Anaheim, represented Turkmenistan in men’s 81 kg weight category on the fifth day of the World Weightlifting Championship.

Winners of three sets of medals were defined on the fourth days of the World Weightlifting Championship. Men in the weight category up to 67 kg started contesting first. The contest in the snatch was between two Chinese weightlifters. The leadership was taken by Minhao Huang with 152 kg, however, his third attempt to break the world record was unsuccessful. Chen Lijung, who was two kg behind, has also did not managed the third attempt and took the second position. The bronze was taken Julio Ruben Mayora from Venezuela with 147 kg.

Turkmen sportsmen won four gold medals at the World Ahihara Karate Championship in Gyor (Hungary) on November 2 – 4. The tournament has gathered 200 fighters from 14 countries and was distinguished by friendly atmosphere among the participants despite high competition.

The World Weightlifting Championship is continued in Martial Arts Complex of the Olympic village in Ashgabat. Winners in three weight categories were defined on the third day of the competitions.

By the decision of referee team, Turkmen weightlifter Yulduz Jumabayeva received back two silver medals in the weight category up to 45 kg and her two junior records 104 kg in snatch and 179 kg in total were recognized. Technical error of the referees, which happened yesterday during second attempt when she took successfully record weigh, has been admitted. According to the decision, cancelled results of the second attempt were counted, the award ceremony took place and Yulduz received deserved silver medals.
