Last week, a regional meeting of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Last week, a quadrilateral meeting was held in the capital’s “Oguzkent” Hotel to discuss priorities of diversified transportation of energy resources to the world markets, including in the European direction, which provides for building a joint pipeline infrastructure. The meeting was attended by executives of the fuel and energy departments of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey, as well as representatives of the European Commission.

On April 27-28, the first communications satellite of Turkmenistan – “TürkmenÄlem 52°E” was launched from the spaceport at Cape Canaveral in Florida (USA). Built by the French company – “Thales Alenia Space” against our country’s order, the satellite was launched into space by the “Falcon 9”carrier rocket.

Last week, a delegation headed by Special Representative of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly for Central Asia Mr. Thierry Mariani was received in Mejlis of Turkmenistan.

Last week, a ceremony of presenting “The 2015-2020 National Action Plan for Gender Equality in Turkmenistan” was held in a conference hall of the capital’s “Yildyz” Hotel. It was attended by representatives of the relevant ministries and sectoral departments, as well as international organizations accredited to our country.

On April 5, by the well-established tradition, festivities were held countrywide to mark the national holiday – “A drop of water is a grain of gold”, annually celebrated on the first Sunday in April.

Last week, a meeting of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of Turkmenistan was held to consider the issues connected with preparations for the upcoming election of Gengesh members to be held on August 16 this year in compliance with the Resolution of Mejlis of Turkmenistan.
