The XIV Forum of Cultural and Scientific Personnel of the CIS will be held in Turkmen capital on May 15 – 16. As is known, the development of versatile cooperation including humanitarian and cultural contacts with the members of the Commonwealth of Independent States is one of priority directions of foreign policy of our country.

Turkmenistan was elected to the membership of the Executive Council of the World Food Programme for 2020 – 2022, the UN Population and Development Commission for 2020 – 2024 and the UN Narcotic Drugs Commission for 2020 – 2023 during the session of the UN Economic and Social Council on organizational issues on May 7, 2019.

The President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution, having ordered the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Protection, administration of Balkan and Mary Velayat to provide the production of beetroot in the etraps of the above-mentioned velayats with application of scientifically grounded crop rotation according to agrotechnical requirements.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held regular video conference session of the Cabinet of Ministers where current objectives of the state life have been reviewed.

The Victory Day is the greatest event that embodied the people’s aspiration for peace, friendship and fraternity, the triumph of humanism and goodness”, says the President of Turkmenistan in his congratulatory address.

Briefing with the participation of the heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, representatives of foreign and national mass media for highlighting of the subjects related to the project of Altyn Asyr Turkmen Lake in Karakum Desert as well as cooperation of our country with specialized UN departments in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals was held in Serdar etrap, Balkan Velayat.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made working trip to Balkan velayat where he took part in the launch of construction ceremony of new village, which indeed is a major social and production cluster of new model in area of Altyn Asyr Turkmen Lake.

Speaking during the press conference on occasion of laying the foundation of a new village in the area of the Altyn Asyr Lake, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, the head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Natalia German thanked the Turkmen side for the opportunity to participate in such an important event.

A briefing with the heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Ashgabat, the representatives of foreign and domestic media took place in Serdar Etrap in the area of the Turkmen Lake. The issues on the project of the construction of the Altyn Asyr Lake in the Karakum Desert as well as the issues on cooperation of our country with the UN agency on the Sustainable Devellopment Goals, including three main areas: economic, social and environmental spheres were highlighted during the briefing.

We pay special importance to the relations with the Russian Federation, which is strategic partner of Turkmenistan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said at the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Head of the Government Office of the Russian Federation Konstantin Chuychenko and State Secretary, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Grigory Krasin.
