February is a remarkable month in the modern history of Turkmenistan. In February 2007, Turkmen people elected politician of new formation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the highest government post during nation-wide democratic elections held on wide alternative base.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held regular video conference working session of the Cabinet of Ministers. Outcomes of work of the branches of national economy for the last months and current subjects of the state life have been reviewed at the session.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Governor of St. Petersburg (the Russian Federation) Alexander Beglov, who arrived in Ashgabat, leading a representative delegation.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Director General of PJSC KAMAZ Sergei Kogogin. Expressing gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the opportunity of a personal meeting, the businessman emphasized that due to the favorable investment climate, as well as the large-scale reforms, implemented in the country, business circles of foreign countries expressed keen interest in Turkmenistan. The guest confirmed the interest of the company he leads in building mutually beneficial cooperation.

In accordance with the Decree of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Colonel Gurbanmyrat Annaev is released from the position as the Deputy Minister of National Security and appointed as the Minister of National Security of Turkmenistan.

Three years have passed since President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was re-elected to the highest state post on February 12.

Meeting of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the deputy corps of the country where the main directions of activity of National Parliament this year have been specified took place in the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union to Turkmenistan, Diego Ruiz Alonso, who presented his credentials to the President of Turkmenistan.

In accordance with the Decree of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Atayev Chary is appointed as Turkmenistan Representative for the European Union.
