Regular 24th session of the Mejlis of the fifth convocation where number of laws and legal and regulatory acts developed with the priorities of the policy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, new edition of the Constitution and integrated programme for modernization of the legislative base of the country have been adopted took place. Representatives of relative ministries and departments as well as mass media have been invited to take part in the session. Draft Laws of Turkmenistan on Legal Protection of the Inventions and on Legal Protection of Industrial Samples were the first to be reviewed by the parliamentarians. It was highlighted that Turkmenistan took the course on building of innovative economy, comprehensive realization of intellectual, scientific and technical potential of the country. Complex of measures is aimed at the establishment of national system of intellectual property and bringing of it to international level, provision of legal protection of advanced engineering and technical developments, scientific discoveries and innovations, their wide implementation to different branches of the economy. All of these stipulated the appropriateness of the above-mentioned laws that regulate the relations appearing in legal protection and use of inventions and industrial samples, in other words art and constructive solutions defining the appearance of industrial item. The deputies also reviewed the draft Laws on Amendments and Addendums of the Civil Code of Turkmenistan, on Amendments and Addendums of the Family Code of Turkmenistan, on Amendments and Addendums of the Law of Turkmenistan on Enforcement Proceedings and the Status of Bailiffs, on Amendments of the Law of Turkmenistan on Internal Affairs Departments, on Amendments of the Law of Turkmenistan on Commodity and Raw Material Exchanges and Stock Trade, on Amendments and Addendums of some Legislation Acts of Turkmenistan, on Recognition of some Repealed Legal Acts, on Amendments of the Law of Turkmenistan on Local Executive Power Authorities, on Amendments and Addendums of the Law of Turkmenistan on Local Representative Executive Power Authorities. Besides, the draft Resolutions of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan on Joining to the Protocols related to the Amendments of the Articles 50 a) and 56 on International Civil Aviation, on joining to the Convention for Unification of some rules of International Air Transportation, on Joining to the Convention on Protection of Cultural Values during military conflicts and to its Protocols of 1954 and 1999. Drafts of legal acts that were brought to review by regular session of the Mejlis of the fifth convocation have been unanimously approved and adopted. At the end of the session, the deputies of National Parliament expressed the confidence that these important legal documents would support further solution of the objectives on rapid development of the country in social, economic and democratic reforms. Organizational issues have also been reviewed at the session.
