The oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan is planning to actively develop new prospective fields. The issue was under discussion at the enlarged session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, which focused on the nine-month state-of-the-economy results of 2017. Vice-Premier M. Babaev (in charge of the fuel and energy sector) informed that Turkmennebit State Concern had worked out a 2018-2024 Plan of Geological Exploration Activities aimed at increased oil production. In particular, the plan envisages the active development of new oil-rich fields, such as Northern Goturdepe, Altyguiy and Uzynada.
