Farmers of Dashoguz velayat proceeded with cotton harvesting, where because of the climatic conditions, “white harvesting campaign” starts a bit later than in other regions of the country. Cotton gore in the Northern region occupies 140 thousand hectares, where it is planned to gather 230 thousand tons of “white gold”. Farmers of the velayat prefer such varieties of middle-fibred cotton, adapted to the local conditions, as “Dashoguz-120”, “Serdar”, “C-4727”, “Dashoguz-114”, “Jeyhun”, and “Gubadag-3”. Well-managed, uninterrupted rhythm of “white harvesting campaign” will be provided by modern agricultural machinery. “John Deere” and “Case” high-producing harvesters are deployed afield, and an impressive fleet of trucks and tractors with trailers is involved in the cotton transportation. Receiving points and cotton gin plants are fully prepared for round-the-clock work, and equipped with modern armamentariums, where specialists of the “Turkmenstandartlary” Main State Service check the quality of the delivered raw cotton. Heads of velayat and etrap khyakimliks, daikhan associations as well as representatives of public organizations, scientists-agrarians, experienced agronomists, combine operators, drivers and the tenants-farmers took part in festivities on the occasion of the cotton harvesting. As a part of the celebration, there was organized an exhibition of agricultural machinery and production, manufactured by regional AIC. Velayat’s music-and-song and dance folk bands prepared gorgeous concert program. Traditional competitions in national events aroused much interest among the festival participants.
