Standards for State Flag of Turkmenistan Amended

The Resolution by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov introduced amendments to the state standards for the flag of Turkmenistan. According to the document, the state standard, TDS 562-2015, “On the State Flag of Turkmenistan”, approved by the Presidential Resolution of 20 June 2015, will have a new phrase included in subparagraph 3.2.2: “In large-sized flags (5000 mm and above in width), the images of crescent and stars are allowed to be represented as embroidery (applique)”; subparagraph 3.2.3: will have words and numbers in the first phrase, “the hem of the Flag’s main body at 3-10 mm” replaced with words and numbers “hem of the Flag at 3-15 mm”; will have new phrases of the following contents introduced: “if the width of the flag is 5000 mm and above, edges must be folded by 15-40 mm and stitched. In flags sewn in double layers edges may remain unfolded”; the current state standard will include a new sentence that will follow the first phrase of Appendix A: “In large-sized flags (5000 mm and above in width), narrow seams are allowed to ensure durability of the white trim”.
