President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held the regular session of the Cabinet of Ministers that discussed the pressing issues of the state affairs and reviewed several draft documents. The head of state took a bicycle ride from the Oguzhan Presidential Palace Complex to the building of the Cabinet of Ministers. As the national leader emphasized, the regular exercise and sport activities have a positive impact on health. At the session, the head of state first heard the report on the progress in harvesting, during which over 400 thousand tons of wheat have been collected across the country. Along with that, care is taken of cotton crops. Information has also been presented on measures taken to boost production of garden crops and vegetables. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that primary focus must be placed on equipment, cotton combine harvesters and other machinery, and availability of spare parts. The report has been presented on the events scheduled for the period of Turkmenistan’s chairmanship in the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea in 2017-2019. The President of Turkmenistan has stressed that the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea is a universal platform for joining efforts of the countries of the region to overcome the consequences of the Aral crisis; improve the environmental and socio-economic situation in the Aral Sea basin. The head of state approved the presented draft documents pertaining to the IFAS chairmanship. It has also been reported that the National Parliament, together with the specialists of the relevant agencies, is working on several draft bills intended to foster the development of economy and society; improve political culture; strengthen civil institutions. Information has been presented on the progress in implementation of the state program for privatization of enterprises and state property, under which the previous Lists have been reviewed together with relevant agencies and provincial administrations. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov appointed G.Myradov Deputy Minister of Finance. Information has been presented on the progress in implementing the Program of Development of the Oil and Gas Industry of Turkmenistan for the Period to 2030; the steps taken to activate the work of the closed joint stock company, National Oil and Gas Company of Turkmenistan; redistribution of equity participation of the founding organizations and enterprises. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed to increase focus on studying the global oil and gas market situation, and emphasized the importance of enhancing the sector’s export potential; boosting volumes of oil and petrochemical production. Further, information has been presented on restoration efforts at several operating textile complexes, particularly, the Gokdepe Textile Complex in Ahal province. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed the need to accelerate the work of enterprises in the processing sector, including textile industry, and emphasized the significance of renewing the manufacturing facilities and increasing production of import substitutes. The report has been presented on the measures taken by the Ministry of Communal Services to supply high-quality drinking water to the population of the country; and the progress in urban improvement works in Ashgabat. The national leader stressed the importance of organizing, prior to the beginning of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, the voluntary cleaning and landscaping campaigns by ministries and sectoral agencies; municipal and provincial administrations; enterprises and institutions. Special emphasis must be placed on creating green zones and favorable conditions for recreation and leisure activities, as well as ensuring the environmental well-being in the capital. Information has been presented on preparation for the universal exhibition, International Economic Development – 2017, to be held in Ashgabat on 20-21 June, and the trade show, Commerce and Services – 2017, scheduled for 27-28 June. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Decree on the Establishment of the Institute of Communal Services of Turkmenistan, and the Resolution on Institute-related Issues. Construction, by the order of the Ministry of Communal Services, of the buildings and facilities of the institute has reached the final stage. The session heard the report on implementation of the measures to improve the work of enterprises dealing with railway, air, railroad and other types of transport; to upgrade the material and technical base of the sector. Information has been presented on preparation for the upcoming Culture Week in the Year of Health and Inspiration; the works on studying, preserving and promoting the cultural heritage. Continuing the session, the national leader stated that, guided by the traditions of humanism and clemency, to mark the blessed night of Gadyr gijesi, campaigns are held regularly to pardon the misled citizens who have repented for their crimes. The national leader signed the Decree under which, on the occasion of Gadyr gijesi, 1029 Turkmenistan national will be freed from further serving their sentence. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed to take necessary measures to guarantee employment for those pardoned. Several other issues pertaining to the state affairs have also been reviewed at the Cabinet session, and relevant resolutions adopted.
