By June 16, farmers of Turkmenistan fulfilled 25 percent of the state order for the production of wheat. Vice-premier for Agriculture E.Orazgeldiev said about it at the government meeting. Wheat harvest cropping started on June 7 in four of the five velayats of Turkmenistan. Grain growers of the northernmost region of the country - Dashoguz velayat - joined the harvest on June 14. In total, since the beginning of the campaign, rural workers have harvested 400,000 tons of wheat. Simultaneously with the mowing, straw is harvested in the fields, the land is ploughed and sowing of intermediate crops is carried out. Having heard the report President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov has stressed that the steady hot weather requires the increase in the pace of the grain harvest and the qualitative conduct of the harvest period in a short time. This year, 1 million 600 thousand tons of grain is planned to gather from 760,000 hectares.
