Antonio Guterres: The neutrality allows Turkmenistan playing an important role in the region

The UN Secretary General, who is currently on the working visit in Ashgabat, highly appreciated the role of neutrality of Turkmenistan in provision of peace and stability. During the negotiations with President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, he noted that conflicts situations happen in many regions of the world, something occurs that estranges fraternal nations, tribes and people from the same region. At the same time, according to the Head of the UN, Turkmenistan is successfully developing being a neutral state and this is a fundamental principle. “Turkmenistan is a neutral state because of your deep confidence that this is the right way, which is very important”, - Antonio Guterres said. He also highlighted that the neutrality allows Turkmenistan playing an important role in the region with numerous vital problems. “We are delighted and support as well as congratulate Turkmenistan on this achievement”, - the Head of the UN said.
