On May 30-31, the Energy Charter Conference ""Towards a Multilateral Framework Agreement on Energy Transit"" and the International Energy Media Forum will be held in Ashgabat. On June 1-2, the annual Energy Charter training seminar is planned. The preparations for these events, which will be held within the framework of Turkmenistan's chairmanship at the Energy Charter Conference in 2017, were announced at the meeting of the government by the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov. It is noted that these forums will be held with the broad participation of foreign partners and representatives of the media. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, summing up the discussion, stressed that cooperation in the energy sector is a key factor for sustainable global development. According to the Head of State, the energy policy of neutral Turkmenistan is based on ensuring universal energy security covering the sphere of energy production, transportation and consumption.
