President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution on Rice Production in Turkmenistan in 2017. The document entails that it is planned to plant with rice the total area of 18 thousand 300 hectares, and ensure the production of 81 thousand 600 tons of pearl grain in Dashoguz and Lebap provinces. The Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources; administrations of Dashoguz and Lebap provinces are entitled to ensure the production of rice in farmers’ unions in Saparmyrat Turkmenbashi district of Dashoguz province, as well as in Birata, Galkynysh, Garashsyzlyk, Atamyrat, Beyik Turkmenbashi, Serdarabat, Farap, Sakar, Sayat, Garabekewul, Hojambaz, Halach, Koytendag districts and the town of Seydi of Lebap province.
