World Jujitsu Junior Tournament, where Turkmen sportsmen showed good result and won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals, was completed in the capital of Greece. The success was achieved in “ne-vaza” discipline (wrestling version of Japanese martial art). Around 800 sportsmen from more than 40 countries took part in the competition. The girls were the best in our team. Nilufar Muhiddinova, competing in weight category up to 55 kg, won the gold. In final fight, she overcome her compatriot Anna Philppova who got the silver. It was not the first time when the finalists of the world’s cup contended for the gold between each other. Young Turkmen jujitsu masters met in the final of Asian Championship held in Ashgabat Olympic village. At that time, A. Philippova demonstrated better wrestling skills and current victory of N. Muhiddinova turned to be a good revanche. Gulbahar Madrayimova (up to 49 kg) and Aysoltan Garchovova (above 70 kg) won the bronze. Honoured Coach of Turkmenistan Omar Muhammetnazarov trained our girls to the current competitions. It is worth mentioning that jujitsu is included to the programme of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat in September of this year. The above-mentioned prize-winners, despite their young age, are the main candidates of national team. The World Cup in Athens were another evidence of high level of skills of Turkmen sportsmen.
