Our athletes won three medals (one silver and two bronze) at the 5th Fujairah Open Taekwondo Championship, the WTF event held in the UAE. 500 athletes from 15 countries participated in the competition. Mekan Gurbanov (up to 59 kg weight category) became the vice-champion in the Turkmen national team. Batyr Charyyev and Jelaletdin Batyrov (both in up to 68 kg weight category) occupied the third spot on the podium. At the same time, in Almaty, our athletes won bronze medals at the international bowling tournament Almaty Cup 2017. They gained 206 points and conceded to the Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan national teams who collected 219 and 211 points respectively, but finished ahead of Russian (203) and Ukrainian (201) athletes.
